In time for the conference, here are a few links to help with your Zoom questions. (Please note: not meant as an endorsement.)
A few tips I learned from the videos posted at the end of this article.
For the iPad.
- Holding the space bar will unmute you temporarily – but don’t let go of the space bar until you’re ready to re-mute! (wonder if this works on an Android) – (this is applicable if you have an actual keyboard attached to your iPad)
- Always show meeting controls – the top strip that always seems to disappear! You need to turn this on to lock it in to place. Find it in Meeting Settings in the MORE Icon top right corner of the Zoom screen.
- Chat is also in the MORE menu ; Raise hand function is at the bottom of the MORE menu ; SETTINGS is in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- (iPad) – Ending a meeting – find this in the top left corner you first have to click a bar called END
TIP: turn your video off during the session if you’re using an iPad or Android tablet because other participants can see you tapping your screen (turn off your Mic and Video in the settings – see MORE menu. Doing this before the session would be better, then you could turn it on manually when you’re ready to ask a question.)
