The Journey to Genealogy Services at Ādisōke

Did you hear about the once-in-a-lifetime event happening at the annual Ontario Ancestors/OGS Conference the weekend of June 25th? Definitely not kidding about it being a once-in-a-lifetime event.

On Friday, June 24, the Keynote Speakers, representatives from Library & Archives Canada (LAC), and Ottawa Public Library (OPL) will discuss, explain, and listen to [Y]OUR opinions on the new genealogy services centre being built in Ottawa.

Robyn Feres-Cameron and Julie Roy from LAC and Melissa Black from OPL will be telling us about The Journey to Genealogy Services at Ādisōke (opening in 2026).  They will present the plans for the new joint facility offering genealogy services from both institutions in the same space.

The speakers will be asking conference attendees to
contribute to the “co-design” of this new space by describing
what their ideal “service journey” would look like.

They will be asking [Y]OUR opinions and keeping track of those opinions!  They want to know what we are accessing, how we access them, both online and in-person.  See what I mean about this being a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity?

Be sure to join us on Friday night at 7:15 PM at Conference 2022 so you can be in on the discussion and add your voice to the upcoming plans for the new building and the types of services that would suit genealogists.

To register, visit https://conference2022.ogs.on.ca/registration-information/ and I look forward to seeing you there!
