Moderated by Heather Oakley and Roger Robineau
Genealogists are a social bunch – and love sharing their successes, tips, and genealogy resources. This is a continuation of the chat from Friday night providing registrants at Ontario Ancestors’ annual Conference will have an opportunity to do all that! Heather Oakley and Roger Robineau will be hosting a moderated discussion. They have a few topics in mind but they are going to let the discussion be as free as possible. This is the time for all you people missing in-person events to have a chance to share, meet new people virtually, and maybe have a EUREKA! moment or two. Some topics they may cover include:
- “Assuming Facts Not in Evidence” on websites, e.g. Find a Grave. How should we treat information that has presumably been researched by somebody but is not actually sourced?
- How many of you have used TONI?
- Tips and tricks for finding a mother’s maiden name
- Ethics and Privacy: When does a responsible genealogist put info online? When a person is dead? How long after death?
Do you have a topic you want to discuss with other genealogists? Register for Conference 2022 and join us!
