Ontario Ancestors – Branches: Online Help Chats

Have you checked out what Ontario Ancestors Branches and SIGs are doing?  In this week’s post Penny highlights some of the many online and in-person activities of the Society’s Branches and Special Interest Groups.  The branches listed as a drop-in virtual meeting indicate that they will help with general genealogy questions during the chat.

The branches listed as a drop-in virtual meeting indicate that they will help with general genealogy questions during the chat.

  1. Contact the branch for more or detailed information, I’ve only compiled the list.
  2. Anyone can join the online video chat, most are free, but please register first. Some may require a membership to the branch.
  3. Keep an eye on their events page, as the event may be cancelled at the last minute due to illness or other human or family incidents.
  4. When posing a question, there will be other people in the queue, so please be respectful, and make your questions brief, knowing you can follow-up with an email.
  5. Check if the branch has a library or a research offer!
  6. Remember to review your ‘Virtual Meetings : Miss or Mr. Manners’ rulebook before joining the meeting!
