Library and Archives Canada and the Ottawa Public Library present a co-design session on genealogical services at their new joint facility, Ādisōke (opening 2026).
In this session Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) will present the plans for their new joint facility, Ādisōke (Anishinaabemowin for “storytelling”), which will be opening in 2026. As Ādisōke’s genealogy services will be offered by both institutions in the same space, the speakers will be asking conference attendees to contribute to “co-designing” these services by describing what their ideal “service journey” through the new facility might look like. Questions may cover: how users prepare for research, what they expect to see in research spaces, and what resources and help they need in support of their projects. The session will end with a Q&A.
