
Michael Petrou is Historian, Veterans’ Experience, at the Canadian War Museum. His publications include Renegades: Canadians in the Spanish Civil War (UBC Press) and Is This This Your First War? Travels Through the Post-9/11 Islamic World (Dundurn). Petrou is an adjunct research professor in Carleton University’s Department of History. He was previously the Martin Wise Goodman Canadian Neiman Fellow at Harvard University. Petrou has a doctorate in Modern History from Saint Antony’s College, University of Oxford, which he attended as a Chevening Scholar. He worked for many years as a foreign correspondent.
